DIY envelopes

DIY envelopes
I love using kraft envelopes in my penpal letters because they look great on their own, but are also the perfect blank canvas for decorating! Today I'm showing you a few ideas for embellishing envelopes for your letters!

DIY envelopes
For the first envelope, I played around with a marble texture using paint and water. I love this because you can combine any colors you want to go with your letter!

To create the texture, I filled the bottom of a plate with water, and then swirled a few colors of paint. I dipped each side of the envelope in the paint water and let it dry.

This cat enveloped was inspired by a letter I received from the lovely Elisa of the blog Petit Bretzel. To make this, I drew this simple cat shape and carved it out of an eraser. Then I just dipped it in paint and stamped it across my envelope!

For the last envelope, I used a brush to paint a coat of white so it gave it a faux bois look. Then I layered some strips of washi tape to add some more color!

How do you decorate your penpal letters? I'd love some more inspiration!
